Rainer Widmann

I am a data scientist at Zooplus, where I support decision making with interpretable models of customer behavior. My work focuses on applied econometrics, causal machine learning, and experimentation, helping to evaluate interventions, understand repurchase drivers, and inform strategy across product categories and customer segments.

Previously, I was a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, where I studied the economics of innovation and digital markets. I received my PhD in Managerial Economics and Strategy from Northwestern University.
